Monsoon mosquito fogging schedule announced for all 27 wards

The municipal health wing has announced a ward-wise fogging and anti-larval schedule for the monsoon season. Each of the 27 wards will be covered once a week between 6 pm and 8 pm, starting with the low-lying wards near the tank and the shandy ground. Sanitary workers will also visit homes to check water tanks, flower pots, old tyres and coconut shells where rainwater can collect. Residents are asked to cover stored water, empty containers every few days and clear rainwater from terraces and sunshades. During fogging, residents may keep doors and windows open for a few minutes so that the mist can enter the house, and keep food covered. Children should stay away from the fogging vehicle. The weekly schedule for each ward will be shared in the app's announcements and displayed at the ward offices. Missed streets can be reported to the municipal office.
