Alumni fund six smart classrooms at Government Boys Higher Secondary School

Six classrooms at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram, have been fitted with interactive display panels, sound systems and new benches, funded entirely by the school's former students. The classrooms were opened for use on Monday. The alumni association, formed by students from batches between 1985 and 2015, raised ₹9.6 lakh over four months through contributions from members in Tamil Nadu and abroad. The school also received fresh paint, LED lights and a water purifier as part of the project. Teachers will use the panels to show science animations, maps and recorded lessons, and Class 10 and 12 students will get revision sessions using previous years' question papers on the large screens. The association plans to upgrade the school library and the chemistry laboratory next year, and invites former students to join through the school office.
