Rasipuram Young Lions win district invitational kabaddi trophy

Rasipuram Young Lions Kabaddi Club lifted the trophy at the district invitational kabaddi tournament in Namakkal, beating a team from Tiruchengode 38–31 in a tense final played under floodlights on Sunday night. Thirty-two teams took part in the three-day tournament. The Young Lions trailed by four points at half-time but turned the match around with two super tackles and a string of successful raids in the last ten minutes. Raider S. Karthikeyan was named the best player of the tournament, while defender M. Vignesh received the best catcher award. The team received a rolling trophy and a cash prize of ₹25,000. Club coaches said the win would help the team prepare for the regional championship in December, and invited young players from the town to join the club's evening practice sessions.
