Under-16 cricket selection trials and winter coaching camp on Sunday

A town cricket club will hold selection trials for its under-16 squad and winter coaching camp on Sunday at 7 am at the college ground on Namakkal Road. Boys and girls born on or after 1 September 2010 are eligible. Players should come in white or light-coloured sports clothes and bring their own bat and shoes; helmets and pads will be available at the ground. Each player will be assessed in batting, bowling and fielding by experienced coaches. Selected players will train four days a week for eight weeks, with sessions on turf and matting wickets, fitness drills and video analysis of their technique. A nominal fee of ₹1,500 covers the full camp, and fee waivers are available for talented players from low-income families. Parents are requested to accompany players under 14. Registration will be done at the ground from 6:30 am with a copy of the birth certificate or school ID card.
