Floodlit volleyball tournament at the municipal ground from Friday

A three-day floodlit volleyball tournament for men's and women's teams will begin at the municipal ground on Friday evening, organised by the town's volleyball association with support from local businesses. Twenty-four men's teams and ten women's teams from Namakkal, Salem and Erode districts have registered so far. Matches will be played on two clay courts from 6 pm to 11 pm each day, with the finals on Sunday night. The winning teams will receive trophies and cash prizes of ₹20,000 in the men's section and ₹15,000 in the women's section. Special prizes will be given for the best spiker, the best setter and the most disciplined team. Entry for spectators is free. Seating is available along both courts, and organisers have requested visitors to park two-wheelers outside the ground.
